Those were the days! The beach, the town and the Marine and Marita hotels were full of tourists, the wee café down on the sea front did a roaring trade and we scholars of Fortrose Academy were on our long summer holidays - out in a boat or roaming the
seashore to the west of Rosemarkie. Those were the days indeed ...

Yes those were the days indeed!.that's when we had real summers.no cheap package get outs to spain,portugal,etc,etc.as kids we spent our entire summer holidays on the beach.I was allowed a day out to the Cooper Park in Elgin with my parents.have a row with my father on the boats in the pond.the excitement of travelling on an Alexander's bus was something else.simple pleasure's.
