My dear father, known to everyone as Dick. My dad was a Newfoundlander who came to Scotland in 1940 with the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit as a Lumberjack to cut timber for the war cause. After the war he remained & worked in Scotland. 1975 we both went to Nfld, first time he'd been home in 35 years, it was nice for him to see his three brothers & sister. A very emotional but happy time to see his family again. A great father to me, sadly missed.
